I joined in 1996, and at that time there were less than 50 deacons registered (i.e., maybe 2% of all USA deacons). It has now grown to over 500. So about 5% of the Omaha community has registered - I call that a "normal" growth pattern. (What I find Really Strange is that the full Council membership, and all Area Reps and back-ups haven't signed up... Where does Commitment begin, except at the "TOP"? ... Question: how can one best get Feedback from the community on "Why" the decline; and secondly, how could we get the Absentees (i.e., the Declinees) somehow communicate their reasons why they no longer attend - or at least infrequently? Today, the ashes at my church were very dry, drier that I have ever seen before; and therefore they did not go on to people's foreheads very well. By the time I got home there was no evidence that I had received ashes. The priest did bless the ashes and sprinkle a little bit of holy water on them but not much. Does anyone know if water is usually added in order to make the ashes moister?
